Adam Piore is the author of the Body Builders, Inside the Science of the Engineered Human, a book about what the field of bioengineering is revealing about untapped human resilience and how we might tap into it to cure disease and augment the human body and mind. Topics include bionics, genetic engineering, regenerative medicine, brain computer interfaces and a wide array of other emerging areas in science. A former Newsweek correspondent and editor, Piore has covered Congress, lived in southeast Asia, covered 9-11 from Ground Zero, spent time in Iraq and traveled to the Brazilian Amazon. In recent years he has specialized in writing about science and business for a wide array of publications, including Businessweek, Fast Company, Popular Science, MIT Technology Review and Nautilus.
